Synopsis: Kernom Varnell wanted a new life. Adventure, freedom, anything but the quiet future his family had planned for him. When his ship is attacked above the deadly Mist, survival throws him together with four strangers who should never have trusted one another: an archer caught between two cultures, a wanderer with too many secrets, a disgraced swordsman hunted by an empire, and a warrior from a people feared as monsters. Their only refuge is Naporia, the free city of flying ships, crime, and opportunity. But when tragedy strikes, their fragile alliance turns into something far more dangerous. To uncover the truth, they will have to face old hatred, political corruption, the horrors of the Chancre, and the secrets each of them carries. The forum now exists mostly as an archive, but the setting, nations, cultures, major lore concepts, and most of the world's history existed long before I started writing this novel. This fiction is marked as AI assisted because I use AI tools for proofreading and editing support. I do not use AI generated content and the plot, characters, worldbuilding and prose are mine.
