The MingYuan Chronicles: The Gate of Cangshan

Elena Weiss grew up beneath the snow mountains of Austria, hearing things no one else could hear: the breath of old houses, the silence before death, and the strange call of a mountain she had never seen. When she discovers an old German translation of the I Ching, a handwritten Chinese line inside the book opens the first door of her destiny: Where mountain and water meet, a gate awaits those with fate. Drawn by dreams, a mysterious white stone, and her fascination with Chinese culture, Elena travels to Dali, China, where she meets Master Xuanhe, a reclusive teacher of Feng Shui, Bazi, divination, the Five Elements, and ancient spiritual arts. But her training begins with danger. In the nearby village of Qingtang, the well water turns black, children fall ill, the local earth shrine loses its flame, and villagers whisper that something beneath the mountain is waking. To uncover the truth, Elena must overcome language barriers, cultural doubt, and her own fear. What begins as a search for wisdom becomes a battle against corrupted metaphysics, restless spirits, broken land energy, and human greed. Before she can become MingYuan, she must learn the first rule of destiny: Fate is not a prison. It is a map.
