Resonance

RESONANCE Shin has never heard a single note in his life. Born deaf into the Embral, a nation where sound is power and fire is everything, he was never supposed to be anything. So he stopped waiting to be something and simply left. Armed with a hand carved flute he has never played and absolutely no plan, Shin steals a boat and sets sail toward the rest of the world. He wants to see it all — the Tidesong's vast waters, the Stonemark's ancient cities, the Driftveil's open skies. He wants friends, adventure, and the kind of freedom that has no strings attached. What he finds is a world more complicated than he expected. A world where the line between Resonant and Mute cuts deeper than he realized. Where five nations smile at each other and mean something else entirely. And where something ancient and silent is moving through the world, stealing sound — and with it, everything people are. Shin isn't interested in being anyone's hero. He just wants to be free. But freedom, he's starting to learn, might be more complicated than he thought. — Resonance. A story about sound, silence, and what it means to finally choose something worth holding onto.
