Freedom Beyond the End

Thunder rolls over the horizon and lightning strikes in the distance. Humanity may not know it but this storm marks the end of the world as they know it. The phenomenon it brought has infused all life on the planet to mutate and grow at extraordinary speeds. Trees turn to colossal nests of wooded branches, animals fuse together to create new hybrids, others become conduits for the elements of the world, and some even gain intelligence on par with humans. As for humans themselves, the lucky few mutate at the beginning and are born anew as superhuman. They now hold power within themselves that no one has ever before. How will humanity change after the end? How will the newly formed powers within them manifest? How much has nature and the landscape itself has changed? Has freedom now been returned to humanity?
