'Humans... are strange creatures. They don't even know if they have souls. Why should mine concern you?' Nero Lumina, a nyasuk alien and mercenary pilot, may have made the worst mistake of his life by boarding the ageing human vessel Naetilus on what appears to be a straightforward humanitarian mission. Around him, the nyasuk supremacist faction known as the Cult threatens the fragile balance between species, tormenting the population of Alféion and the Confederation alike — circling like carrion birds. This is no ordinary assignment; for him, it could be his last, if his murky secret comes to light. Time is running out, and every action will have consequences. No one is free... Not even him.
