In the city of Aethon, Cyrus Noctis doesn’t feel. Not because he can’t — because he chose not to. Three years ago, he surrendered his capacity for emotion to gain something the world had never seen: a Path that converts pain into power, loss into fuel, and damage into strength. It was the perfect trade. Until the Rifts started dying. The Rifts are not disasters. They are not anomalies. They are conscious, ancient, and they have been asking for help in a language no one could hear — until Cyrus. Armed with an Anchor Fragment that grants him complete resonance with the Rift network, he is the only person capable of repairing what eighty years of institutional deception has destroyed. But every repair costs him something. And what it costs him is exactly what he gave up.A story about power and its price. About what we sacrifice to survive. And about the long, difficult road back to being fully human — when the weight of every choice finally lands.
