Tim died on the same day he won the lottery. He never got to spend a penny. Now he is trapped in a world filled with creatures he spent his entire life believing were fictional, armed with no survival skills, one increasingly overpowered Growlithe, and the growing suspicion that Pokémon are far more unpredictable—and far more dangerous—than the games ever implied. This is not the cheerful adventure he imagined growing up. The wilderness is hungry. The locals are terrifying. The rules are different. Survival depends less on badges, destiny, or heroic speeches than on learning very quickly which adorable woodland creature is about to bite his leg off. As Tim builds a small but powerful pack, he stumbles into wars, politics, monsters, and secrets far beyond his pay grade. He slowly realises that knowing Pokémon from games and knowing them as living creatures are two very different things. It is harsher. Stranger. And occasionally a complete fucking disaster. Author Notes PokeDog updates at least once a day, and I intend to maintain that pace for the foreseeable future. This story is published by me on Royal Road and Patreon under the same name. Any appearance elsewhere has been reposted without permission. PokeDog is human-authored and AI-assisted. I use AI during drafting and editing, but I revise every chapter extensively. The plot, character choices, revisions, and final text are mine. This is my first real attempt at writing and publishing.
