Sixteen-year-old David is an aircraft enthusiast with a pilot’s mind and a high-society father who has no time for him. When he’s shipped off to spend a sweltering Missouri summer with his uncle "Cooter." David expects a season of boredom and isolation. Instead, he’s handed the keys to a "toy": a broken, faded 49cc Tao-Tao scooter that smells of spoiled gas and looks like junk. But the local Mayor, Gavin; an elitist pilot who views the town’s working class as "data noise" to be deleted, sees David and his "untrackable" scooter as a threat to his "Smart City" vision. What begins as a petty dispute at the local airport spirals into a battle over civil rights, legal loopholes, and the definition of freedom. In the humid Missouri heat, David must prove that a "toy" in the hands of a craftsman is more powerful than a giant with a grudge.
