Best Served Cold

Shraed Hurrall is an iceman - a biologically enhanced mercenary earning his keep doing jobs no one else can on the frozen world of Kronius. Working for the most powerful syndicates and corporations meant steady income and a heap of respect on the side. Life was good for this big fish in his small pond, until a job comes his way that sees him up against a threat the likes of which Kronius has never seen. Faced with near death and existential danger for him and his home, Shraed must choose between diving back into his life as a merc and forgetting what he saw, or leaving it all behind to save his people and get payback against the one who nearly ended his life. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and Shraed is an expert on life and death below zero. (This story is not a direct sequel to Starfall: Born to Shatter,but it does take place in the same wider setting.)
