Liu Yinhua’s world has all but ended.
The Moon-Viewing Tower is behind her, along with its painted screens, careful smiles, and every debt written in Madame Xue’s hand. The fire should have killed her. Perhaps it should have ruined her. Instead, it burns brightly enough for the Vermilion Glass Sect to take notice. Now she is a disciple among cultivators, with no clan, no patron, and no good explanation for the power that woke inside her.
In the sect, beauty is worth less than strength, manners are worth less than talent, and every kindness has the shape of a future debt.
Liu Yinhua has always wanted to see if coins would melt with enough heat.
Slow-burn xianxia progression with a character-first focus.
Action, training arcs, rivalries, and sect politics.
A cautious female lead who grows wilder as she grows stronger.
A romance subplot that develops slowly and does not overtake the main story, and may vary at times between different pairings, both straight and yuri.
Fantastic side characters with their own motives, wounds, ambitions, and paths.
Class tension between nobles, clans, and unbacked disciples.
This is not a more standard xianxia, in that I wholly believe that cultivation of spirit without cultivating respect, honour, friends and connections would be wholly useless. It will be slow going, for all she will grow fast. Please understand that I enjoy most in this story that people are explored, for all there will be war and loss and tragedy and many battles.
