In a world where gods walk to work and everyone cultivates their own planet as a source of divine power, Luck is unremarkable by every measurable standard. Chubby. Commoner. No lineage, no connections, no planet worth mentioning. He got into Aethon Academy — the most prestigious institution in the world — the same way he gets most things in life: by complete accident. One lottery ticket. One name pulled from ten million. He's not the chosen one. He wasn't forged by tragedy. He doesn't have a secret power that will reveal itself at the perfect dramatic moment. What he has is his mom's cooking packed into one bag, an embarrassing tendency to make friends with strangers on public transport, and the unshakeable conviction that most problems can be solved if you actually listen to people. Aethon Academy is full of gods-in-training who have cultivated since birth, who carry the weight of divine bloodlines, who have never once in their lives been told they weren't extraordinary. None of them know what to do with him. Luck, for his part, thinks they're all pretty interesting. A story about a genuinely good person in a world that doesn't have a category for him — and what happens when that turns out to matter.
