Alicia Vane is an elite bureaucrat with a rising career—until she’s assigned to the most tedious post imaginable: Glenholt, a barren frontier. Her mission? To monitor Leonard Cross, the world’s strongest Hero turned Lord, whom the Kingdom still fears. Expectations: A tense standoff with a dangerous legend.Reality: On her first day, she finds the "Strongest Man" covered in mud, obsessively fixing a waterway. "Can you help?" he asks."…I’ll manage." she sighs. Between slaying dragons to lower meat prices and navigating village politics to fix irrigation, Alicia’s life as an 'oversight officer' is anything but ordinary. To protect this fragile peace, she picks up her pen to write her daily report: Remarks: No issues. All is well.
