After dying in a fire caused by his own reckless attempt to prove magic was real, Ariston is reborn in a fantasy world where runes shape everyday life and ancient mistakes have left the land slowly dying. Raised in the quiet farming village of Riverwake, Ariston spends his second life learning rune magic, helping his family and village survive failing harvests. But as strange monsters appear and spirits grow restless, we learn dangerous people are abusing magic once again. After regaining his memories from his past life, Ariston discovers his reincarnation may be tied to the world’s survival.
