He does not remember the Great Crusade. He does not remember Isstvan V. He does not remember the wars, the oaths, or the name the warriors around him speak with reverence.

The galaxy is not kind to the weak, the lost, or the uncertain. The Imperium devours its own in the name of survival. Chaos waits for every fracture in the soul. Xenos threats circle the dying light of mankind. In such an age, truth is not safety, mercy is not policy, and glory is often just another word for extinction.
If the Raptors are to endure, they must become ghosts before they can become warriors again. And if Daniel wants to live long enough to understand the legend he has inherited, he must wear it until the lie and the man beneath it can no longer be separated.
Because in the far future, duty is measured in blood, survival is paid for in silence, and extinction comes for those who mistake glory for victory.
