Stardust Over the Sekr

Stardust Over the Sekr

by Tiffany Alexanderson

Urban FantasyMultiple Lead CharactersActionAdventureFantasy

On the island of Sekr, the new year is marked by the Stardust Festival - an island-wide celebration culminating in a celestial event called the star shower. This year's festivities include an air show featuring the latest innovations in aircraft technology, the grandest gala of the year at the stardust ball, and a seditious plot that threatens to overturn the island kingdom. Adam is an intelligence agent with fantasies of a more exciting job. For better or worse, he gets his wish and more when an assassin is discovered in the city. To find out what she's after and stop her, he forms an unlikely alliance with a hotshot pilot, a trainee battlemage, and an old soldier. Dogfighting, party crashing, a little vandalism, international intrigue, and maybe some swooning - the four must take matters into their own hands and stand against conspiracy to keep the city they love from collapsing into chaos. And don't forget your festival souvenirs! --- This is an older work that I'm currently expanding off of. It will be posted regularly until it is done - 14 chapters in total. I think it's my favorite of all my works - not because it's particularly good, but because I had a lot of fun writing it. Makes me wish I still had that joie de vivre. Here are some of the reviews: "The setting is somewhat reminiscent of a diesel-punk WWI Venice-by-way-of-London, where we have city-states on islands somewhat or mostly separate from the mainland. ... It's definitely a fun read, and I'm looking forward to more in the same universe." "To keep it simple: If you're looking for a fast-paced, easy, and enjoyable read with lovable characters, this is it. Really, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this read. The setting and plot are well-laid and the characters come to life through their interactions. For what felt like a light read, there are definitely some action-packed, edge-of-your seat scenes that had me fully immersed in the story." "This filled my little steampunk heart with such joy. This fast paced book if fantastic." "The plot was interesting and the ending was exactly what I wanted. The way Alexanderson writes her characters is enjoyable." "This was a lot of fun - better than I was expecting, although given I'd read a previous work by this author and thoroughly disliked it, I'm surprised I picked it up at all!...Stories that balance pace, action, descriptions and characters together this well are tricky to find."
