The Mayday Protocol

A mysterious Mayday signal hijacks the communications of a United Human Alliance warship, overriding even its highest security systems. With no clear origin and no known method capable of such a breach, the crew of the Eventide is ordered to investigate. After three weeks of travel, they arrive at the source: a deep-space research station that has gone completely silent. There is no visible damage, no response to hails, and no sign of the crew. Ten teams are deployed to board the station, and John is one of them. What they discover inside is not simply an abandoned facility, but evidence that humanity has encountered something far beyond its understanding, and far more dangerous than anything it has faced before.
