As a knack, Delila Dupree wasn't as powerful as everyone else in her family, but she'd tell a faerie thank you before letting that keep her down. Sure, she was starting over again at thirty with a roommate and new business installing magical security systems, and her mother was doubling up on the comments about her lack of a beau. However, she knew from experience things could always be worse. Kind of like if she got a call to check on the security system of her very wealthy, very powerful ex-betrothed, who was the heir of a founding family of Snakewater. However, when Delila is accused of stealing something priceless from his estate, someone turns up dead, and a prophecy is placed on her, she realizes that rock bottom has a basement and it's full of goblins. Being a knack might be good enough for Delila, but it might not be good enough to keep her alive.
