In a crumbling world where a mysterious black plague turns people into violent, corrupted shells, two siblings—Niccolò and Violante—discover they are not dying from it… they’re evolving. After the disease kills their mother and tears their city apart, the siblings are forced into a brutal fight for survival. But when their hidden powers emerge—granting unnatural strength and resilience—they become targets. Captured by a secretive group of immune survivors, they’re offered a choice: learn to control their abilities and join a new order… or be left to the chaos outside. As whispers of a death goddess echo through their minds and kingdoms fall one by one, Niccolò is pulled toward the darkness within, while Violante fights to hold onto what’s left of their humanity. In a world where death is spreading—and may be thinking—survival might mean becoming something far worse.
