Patching the Soul

What happens when the corporate machine sinks it's teeth into a young and burgeoning video game industry. That corrupts the very thing that helps people express themselves, to find enjoyment beyond their mundane lives and inspire people to create and dream. Years ago the implementation of video games ushered in a new era, while the original creators wanted to inspire and give people a chance to express themselves, another group capitalised on an industry they saw massive potential and profit in.  ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  Art, who is an avid video game enthusiast and hobby game developer finds victory after a marathon 3 day campaign to achieve a near impossible achievement, and etch his name into the annals of history (or the leaderboard). To be the first person in the world to get the rarest achievement should have been a moment of triumph, yet the crash from his heightened state of adrenalin and copious amounts of coffee and energy drinks sent him into cardiac arrest. Normally this is where it would end, the end of the story, the final bell; but for Art his next great adventure is quite literal, and he will soon find out that maybe death would be better than where he has found himself. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that yes I have used AI to help with some aspects of this story, my knowledge of programming and computer system use is very rudimentary so I have used AI to help me sort that out.
