In the year 2189, Alaric Thorne—a young man with albinism who has endured a lifetime of brutal isolation and relentless bullying—decides he has reached the end of the road.
But death is not what awaits him.
Instead, Alaric awakens in a strange, celestial void before a silver-haired entity who calls herself The Goddess—the self-proclaimed Author of the universe. Furious that Alaric’s suicide has disrupted the narrative she planned for him, she refuses to let his story end. Instead, she forcibly rewrites it.
Alaric is reincarnated into another world as the 87th Hero.
Now trapped in a realm of magic, demons, ancient kingdoms, and clashing mythologies drawn from countless religions and legends, Alaric must survive a destiny he never asked for. In this world, heroes are weapons of prophecy, demons stir in the shadows, and powerful forces manipulate fate itself.
But Alaric has no interest in being anyone’s chosen savior.
If the Goddess believes she can control his story, she’s about to learn something the Author forgot:
Even characters can rebel against the script.

For Readers Outside These Regions
If you live somewhere I didn’t list—such as Japan, continental Europe, Latin America, or elsewhere—I haven’t forgotten about you.
I mainly included countries and regions with large English-speaking or partially English-speaking audiences because Re: Sei is currently written and officially released in English. Listing every timezone on Earth would turn this section into an essay by itself, so apologies to any bilingual or English-speaking readers outside the regions above.
As for Japan, I did start translating Re: Sei into Japanese and posting it on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, but the translation was machine-generated, and I eventually stopped trusting it.
I could translate the Japanese back into English repeatedly to check it, but that still wouldn't tell me whether the Japanese itself sounds natural. I don't know enough Japanese to judge phrasing, character voice, jokes, emotional nuance, or whether something technically correct would actually sound normal to a Japanese reader.
I also dislike AI-generated media in general, and I don't want AI quietly changing dialogue, lore, tone, or meaning without me being able to catch it. Since I can't properly proofread Japanese, I would have no reliable way of knowing if that happened.
On top of that, I can't currently access Shōsetsuka ni Narō to even check where I stopped, because I'm getting a 403 Forbidden error during the site's current access issues affecting some users outside Japan.
So while a Japanese version does exist, I don't consider the machine-translated version equivalent to the official English release. If I continue it properly, I want someone who actually understands Japanese to translate or proofread it.
Some international times may also shift by one hour during different parts of the year due to daylight-saving time.
The official release time will always be:
Every Sunday at 2:20 PM Pacific Time
