The system once recorded everything. Not metaphorically. Literally. Every battle. Every death. Every victory. The world believed this meant history was reliable. They were wrong. Eight hundred years ago, during the final war between Demons and the God of Destruction, the system issued its last stable record. “Hero Unit: Blue — ACTIVE.” That was the last sentence it ever confirmed without correction. Everything after that became uncertain. Not erased. Not lost. Uncertain. Because the system did not fail in one moment. It failed in interpretation. The war ended shortly after that record. Or perhaps it did not. Different archives disagree. Some logs claim total victory. Some claim mutual annihilation. Some simply loop the same final line endlessly: “FINAL STATE: CONFIRMED.” followed immediately by: “FINAL STATE: CONFIRMED (FALSE).” No body of the Hero was ever recovered. No resting place was ever recorded. No death certificate was ever issued. Because the system could not finalize the event involving him. And so history did what it always does when it cannot explain something. It simplified. It called him a legend. A myth. A story. But in the deepest sealed archive of the Magic Academy, beneath layers of restricted memory encryption, one corrupted entry remains: “If the Hero of Destiny is not dead…” “Then the world has not yet ended its previous attempt to conclude him.” And the system—after eight hundred years of silence—still has not corrected that entry.
