PERMATA

Permata are a race of mystical beings whose lives and identities are bound to precious gemstones called cores. Each Permata has a gem embedded in their body, and this gem is both their source of life and power. As long as the core remains intact, a Permata can survive even severe injuries, if it is shattered or stolen, the Permata dies. Because of this, they are often hunted by humans who covet their gems, the permata hunters. Unlike regular gems, a permata's gems are imbued with mysterious powers.
