Leona Davis stopped being a child the day her father was led away in handcuffs. Seven years later, she's twenty-five and carrying the weight of a family that refuses to stand on its own. In the fixer-upper 2-bedroom house located at 656 Twiddle Lane, Bend Grove, Leona is the provider, the protector, and the only barrier between her siblings and the street. With her mother lost to spiraling habits and her stepfather adding more burden than support, Leona has sacrificed her education and her heart to keep Cory, Lexi, and Ollie safe. She's become the mother they weren't supposed to need, and the sister they can't afford to lose. As the pressure of the world closes in and her siblings begin to see the world in a different light, Leona is forced to confront the reality she's been outrunning: even the strongest tether frays under pressure. And when it snaps, the Davis family may lose the only person holding them together.
