In a world of rising debts and falling hope, magic is the ultimate luxury. Zee Dela Cruz stopped believing in fairy tales the day he realized he couldn’t pay his rent with imagination. An eighteen-year-old Filipino international student at Northwestern University, Zee’s life is a suffocating cycle of survival: study until his eyes ache, work a graveyard shift in the biting Chicago cold, and pray the global economic crisis doesn't swallow him whole. The "System" windows and comic book heroes he loved as a kid are a memory, replaced by the grim reality of a world on the brink. Then came the Saturday night shift that shattered reality. While the rest of the world sees a normal city street, Zee is hunted by a gruesome monster—a monstrosity invisible to human eyes, a creature of sharp teeth, horns, and multiple tails that only he can perceive. Just as the otherworldly beast closes in, a forgotten spark ignites. A surge of iridescent energy erupts from his soul: The Blue Butterfly. But his reawakening isn't just a gift; it's a beacon. Pulled through a shimmering rift, Zee is snatched from the streets of Earth and summoned to a dying dimension. He wakes at the feet of a strikingly handsome Elven Prince, a royal desperate enough to reach across worlds for a savior. Now, Zee must navigate a realm of crystalline magic and high-stakes intrigue, mastering a power as beautiful as it is lethal. The rent might be the least of his worries. In this new world, Zee isn't just a student—he’s the apex of a metamorphosis that will change the fate of two dimensions.
