A Narmaknight Tale Book 1 : Children of the Sun Lands

Synopsis:   The final battle for the fate of humanity against the forces of the dark has been fought and won. The peoples of the Narman empire known as the guardians of humanity are now landed in Tariel to lay claim to lands promised to their ancestors a thousand years ago as recompense for their tireless sacrifice.   Instead of a welcome they are met with scorn and skepticism, with claims that the creatures they were fighting were not but myth. With a depleted force and populace, the Narmans must find a way to build a future for their people in this strange new world. But they are soon to learn that not all threats are external.    Featuring a coming of age story with a group of young protagonists, the challenges faced by their teachers and parents.  The Narmans seek peace amongst rising political and ethnic tensions, civil strife, the possible threat of war and a looming supernatural presence with ill-intent.    The journey is seen mostly through the eyes of Varkaz Verde a young Narmaknight initiate with a royal lineage.  Zailey N’tope she is the youngest person to be appointed a cadre leader (Ras).  Grand Inquisitor Karsonen a man of the kingdom of Tariel who is unravelling a conspiracy against the Narmans.  Inquisitor Solana Thalral on a secret assignment encounters her own challenges trying to uncover the conspiracy.  Valen and Taeva Verde the parents of Varkaz, deadly warriors in their own rights, who fear for his future and safety but try their best in the face of all the challenges they face as a family.   Varkaz’s first challenge is to overcome a two decade’s old grudge from a member of the Narmaknight ranks, a warrior and leader of his own cadre named Boraz. Bearing a grievance against Varkaz’s father and mother, he seeks to cause harm and humiliation at any cost.  This will cost the lives of Varkaz’s friends and lead to an inevitable confrontation between Valen and Boraz who are two of the most reputed warriors of their time.  The violence is graphic and the fights are brutal and bone crunching.
