It’s been nearly a century since the Invasion, or the Rapture, or whatever you want to call it. In a world now also inhabited by trolls, ogres, goblins, gnomes, those pesky thunderbirds, and you name it, plain ol’ human Munroe wants nothing more than to afford a simple, modest life for her and her extra special cat, Hobo. Times are tough, though. Recently unemployed and facing eviction, Munroe agrees to a high-paying job offered by a man who’s nothing short of shady. He simply wants her to steal a highly sought-after item from the Underground, a place shunned by the society she knows. How hard could it be? Munroe knew better. Munroe agreed anyway. And now she’s fighting to keep Hobo and herself alive. The screaming goat tattoo she didn't ask for doesn't help one bit, but the talking corgi and other new friends she meets just might. Don’t mind the screams. Everything is fine here.
