In the shadow of the Great Pyramid, some secrets should never be unearthed. 1935--Professor Oliver Tinsdale, a respected Oxford archaeologist, leads a risky expedition into a newly discovered temple buried deep beneath Giza. Accompanying him is Arnold McCord—his brilliant but dangerously reckless American student, obsessed with steampunk machinery and pushing every limit. What they find is no ordinary tomb. Sealed for millennia behind obsidian walls carved with snarling lions lies an ancient relic pulsing with impossible power. But they are not the only ones hunting it. Ruthless Australian relic seekers have already descended into the darkness, willing to kill for what the temple hides. As traps awaken and blood spills across black stone, Oliver and Arnold are forced to confront a truth far older and deadlier than they imagined. Ancient power stirs. Loyalties fracture. And some doors, once opened, can never be closed again. In a world racing toward war, one artifact could rewrite everything—if it doesn’t swallow them first. A darker, grittier side story in the Golden Lion Universe. For readers who crave pulse-pounding adventure, moral gray choices, and the heavy cost of chasing power that was never meant for mortal hands.
