Thaevin took the bounty because the math made sense. Ten thousand Solari for one Threadweaver. Five years' pay in a single job. Capture her, deliver her to the Church, collect the coin, walk away. Clean. Professional. The kind of work he's been doing for twelve years. But the Threadweaver isn't what the Church said she was. Serith has been running for five years, trading pieces of her own memory to stay alive. Every time she rewinds time, she loses something irreplaceable, her father's laugh, the taste of honey, the face of a brother she can no longer remember. And the white in her hair is spreading. When the Church betrays the contract and tries to kill them both, Thaevin makes a choice that changes everything. He discovers he's Voidtouched, a walking null field that silences her power completely. Near him, she can't use the Everthread. Near him, for the first time in five years, she can rest. Now a jaded mercenary and a woman losing herself to her own magic are bound together on a desperate journey to reach Frostspire Citadel before she forgets who she is entirely. But the Church's High Inquisitor is hunting them with an army of soldiers and a four-hundred-year-old immortal guardian who knows exactly what failure looks like. The Binding ritual that could save her requires two things: a Voidtouched and genuine, freely chosen love. Thaevin doesn't know if what he feels is real or just necessity wearing the shape of care. And Serith can't remember what love felt like, she only has the journal entries she writes each night to remind herself it existed. Found family. Slow-burn romance. A crew of broken people choosing each other. And a magic system that demands you pay with the most precious currency of all: who you used to be. Updates Thursdays and Sundays.
