Welcome to The Hollow Crown. If you're coming straight from the end of Shadow of the Forest, good. Don't stop. Don't breathe. That's exactly where I want you. I'll be honest: starting a sequel is its own kind of terrifying. Shadow had the luxury of building slowly, of letting the Vennwood breathe and Kit stumble and the dread accumulate over time. This one doesn't have that. It opens in the clearing, in the cold, with the Hollow King already standing in the open air, and everything Kit thought she understood about this fight already starting to come apart.
