The wizard left. Not a wizard. The wizard. The one who taught the first humans to shape the arcane. Who nurtured a fledgling people into founding Lyriel, the greatest magic kingdom in all the land. There were no signs. No goodbyes. Just. . . gone. All that remains is a scroll, wrapped in riddles, wards, and enough chaos to make someone regret ever finding it. Introducing Faelan. Soon-to-be graduate of Emberhold’s academy. Top of his class, dangerously gifted, and entirely uncertain about what to do with his life. He wasn’t searching for glory. He was searching for purpose. A path. What he found was the wizard’s final legacy. A secret trial to choose his successor. One oblivious touch, and Faelan becomes its first contestant. The trials are riddled with mystery, ruthless, and anything but predictable. Rivals are already on their way. Some seek power, others revenge. Whether Faelan’s ready or not, the tides of fate have been set in motion. The clock is ticking and the wizard left more than a scroll behind.
