Elias Thorne, a veteran of the Second Anglo-Afghan War, returns home a tired and worn man. He thought he had left the monsters—and the ghosts—behind in the mountains of Afghanistan. He was wrong. Now, his home is no longer what it was. The townsfolk are paranoid. Those he once called neighbours look at him with fear. A hunted and desperate clan of gypsies hides on the fringes. And a priest watches it all—his motives far darker than they first appear. This is a writathon piece, so it’s a little rough for now. If people are vibing with it, I’ll polish and expand it further. Hope you enjoy.
