Claremont Academy

Araya Claremont was supposed to attend the Academy, learn to wield her magic, survive the Trials, and return home. Instead, she discovers there is something inside her that should not exist. A Shadowfiend. At Claremont Academy, magic determines where you belong, Champions enforce the rules, and the wrong bloodline can be as dangerous as the wrong power. Araya enters a world already shaped by secrets older than anyone is willing to admit, where her family name carries a history she doesn't understand and the people around her seem to know more about what she is than she does. Then there is Keaton Grant. The Silver Champion is controlled, dangerous, and the son of the man Araya has every reason to hate. He and Araya are enemies long before either understands just how deeply their lives have been tangled together. But surviving freshman year only exposes the beginning of the problem. The Academy closes around them. Old histories begin repeating themselves. People who should be dead refuse to stay buried in the past, and the truth behind the Claremonts, the Grants, and the magic binding their bloodlines together begins to surface. Because this has happened before. Different lives. Different names. The same families. The same deaths. And somewhere in the history everyone has been taught is a lie large enough to reshape everything they know about magic, the Academy, and the throne itself. Araya survived the Trials. Now she and the people beside her have to survive what those Trials were hiding.
