Incursion

The world hasn't seen the sun in generations. The air itself is alive with predatory miasma, and humanity survives in the skeletal remains of dead titans — vast formations of ancient bone that hold the fog at bay just long enough to keep the living alive. Icarus has never known what she is. A biological anomaly, she converts her own internal agony into superheated flame — the more she suffers, the more she burns. For years she has used this to survive, asking no questions about the cost. Now she is hunting Mephistopheles, the devil who may be the source of the miasma itself, and the fog that has always been her world is beginning to look like something that was made. Traveling with her are Faust, a sorcerer who bargains with demons for his power, and Anrith, an elven healer who knows far more than she says. Their goals are not identical. Their methods are not compatible. But Mephistopheles is hunting something specific — and what he's hunting is Icarus.
