People don’t just disappear in Odette; their remains turn up in the sewers days later. A councillor, a baker, a beggar; different lives, same end. It should have been a routine investigation, but instead, the pressure keeps rising and the med ward soon feels like a second home. Madeleine is starting to suspect that this case is above her pay grade. The more Madeleine and her dragon Beau uncover, the clearer the pattern becomes. Understanding it may be the only way to survive what’s already in motion.
