The 7th Day [Superhero Dystopia, Progression Fantasy, Dark, Found Family, Male Lead]

The heroes are dead. The government made sure of it. Seven years after Restoration Week an unstoppable creature called The Figure slaughtered the world's most powerful heroes on live television. Superpowered people are hunted, imprisoned, or forced into submission. The Restoration Task Force enforces the new order, and ordinary citizens cheer them on. Theodore is nobody special. A 27-year-old college dropout working a dead-end retail job in Davis, Oklahoma, he spends his days dodging his boss and his nights wondering where his life went wrong. He's got an abusive father he can't stand up to, a mother who won't protect him, and a lifelong crush who might finally like him back. Then the RTF comes to his neighborhood, and the kind old man next door turns out to be a fugitive hero with wings and a target on his back. Within days, Theodore is on the run with a dedicated resistance: Alexander, the last S-tier hero alive, carrying the weight of a dead world on his shoulders. Jason, a shapeshifter who'd rather watch anime than fight a revolution. Simone, a healer banned from saving lives by the very laws she once followed. And dozens more, all preparing for a final, desperate assault to take back their freedom. But the resistance isn't pure. Its leaders talk about liberation while planning domination. The people they're fighting to save would stone them in the street. And somewhere in the dark, The Figure is still hungry. Book One of The Restoration Saga.
