Allies Tales - Book 3: Guardians of Fallgate

The city of Fallgate is a mid-sized, environmentally conscious city located between dense forests and a rapidly modernizing urban center. Fallgate is renowned for its green initiatives and nestled between ancient, biodiverse forests and the encroaching sprawl of a modern metropolis. A prominent corporation within the city, Verdant Dynamics, has risen up over three decades. Verdant Dynamics touts itself as an environmental innovator, promising ideas such as carbon-negative skyscrapers, AI-driven reforestation, and zero-emission public transit. Through their presentation, the corporation positions itself on the surface as Fallgate’s savior.  However, strange events begin happening all over Fallgate. People begin disappearing, closed-door research takes place, and secret land deals are quietly carried out through shell companies. At the center of all these events is Verdant Dynamics. While the company continues to appear benevolent on the surface, some in Fallgate begin to suspect otherwise. The company continues to push their influence.  In September 2024, a young local Fallgate superhero known as Recluse discovers the last known case being worked on by his late police detective father, learning he was investigating Verdant Dynamics. Upon realizing the company played a part in his father’s death a year earlier, Recluse seeks to finish his father’s investigation and expose the truth. The task will not be an easy one, but Recluse soon discovers he is not alone. After beginning his investigation, Recluse encounters other resident superheroes across Fallgate-Crimson Night, Bursurker, Shadow Cow, Guardian Angel, and Green Guardian. All six of them share a mutual interest in bringing down Verdant Dynamics for various reasons based on how the company’s actions have affected their lives.  Sarah Hart, the CEO of Verdant Dynamics, learns of Fallgate’s superheroes coming together. Using the connections of her mysterious business partner known only as “Z.C.”, Hart brings in a powerful supervillain ally from outside of Fallgate to stop the heroes’ investigation by any means necessary. The group of six ragtag heroes will have to learn to work together to survive and fight to expose the truth about Verdant Dynamics. They must become something greater: the Guardians of Fallgate.
