Welcome to the Imperial Capital’s finest tavern, where the ale is cold, but the stories are hot. This is an Isekai Rakugo Anthology—a collection of high-fantasy tales written in English, inspired by the traditional Japanese art of Rakugo. What is Rakugo?Rakugo is a 400-year-old Japanese art of comedic storytelling. Traditionally, a single performer sits on a stage, using only a paper fan and a hand towel to portray multiple characters and elaborate scenarios. Every story builds toward a clever, often unexpected "Ochi" (the drop)—or punchline—that brings the whole tale together. In this anthology, I have taken these classic, timeless Japanese comedic structures and reimagined them for a world of magic, monsters, and mayhem. From the "Chrono-Stew Scam" to tales of foolish heroes and greedy dragons, witness how a clever tongue can be sharper than a mithril sword.Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! [Author’s Note]This project is a creative endeavor I am pursuing alongside my main work, [The Black Cat Hero and the Minister of Sloth — A Shut‑In Reforms via Remote Work for a Good Night’s Sleep ].I plan to release these chapters periodically in the intervals between updates for my primary series. Think of this as a "performance in the tavern" while we wait for the next major leg of our journey. If you enjoy the wit and storytelling here, be sure to check out my main series as well!
