Miri Waters was not chosen to be a hero. She was chosen to die. Tested, judged, and selected for a universe-altering class known as System Founder, Miri is banished into the Void and bound to a young system entity named Arin aboard a void-faring ship. Her continued existence depends on him. So does her growth. Arin needs raw, newly formed unstable loot to grow his ship, unlock new functions, and enable his system. Unfortunately for Arin and Miri both, that loot can only be found where the Void meets reality: Rifts. It also means Arin needs someone sufficiently motivated to enter them and capable of bringing it back. There are perks too. Miri discovers that System Founder grants privileges no one else can access. Loot forms differently around her. Systems react to her presence. Even death no longer functions as expected. In all the craziness that ensues, Miri keeps one fact close to heart. She fucking hates Arin. Warnings: Moderate profanity Fantasy violence
