I never believed in life after death. Honestly, I still don’t. I died in the dumbest way possible—caught in a failed robbery, a knife driven straight through my lung. Zero stars. Would not recommend. And then… I woke up as a baby. Yes, a baby. Weak, helpless, completely dependent. If that’s not some kind of cosmic joke, I don’t know what is. As I grew older, I began to realize something was very wrong. This was Earth—but not my Earth. Everything felt off. Monsters existed. The supernatural was ordinary. And humans? We were definitely not at the top of the food chain. So I made a decision early on: stay quiet. Act normal. No drawing attention, no pretending to be special. I had already died once—and it hurt like hell. I had no intention of going through that again. For twenty-one years, it worked. I avoided everything—the strange, the dangerous, all of it. Until the day a blue screen suddenly appeared in front of me. Like a game. And just like that, everything went to hell. Now I’m an “Enhanced”—a fancy way of saying I’ve been forced into an army that fights invading monsters. No choice. No escape. No one asked if I agreed. And yeah… running away isn’t an option. Turns out surviving wasn’t enough. Now I have to fight. Honestly?I preferred the knife.
