YIELD

YIELD

by ivanansol

GrimdarkHorrorProgressionPsychological

The continent is dying. It has been dying for a long time, and what everyone calls the land is actually the surface of an organism in its final reproductive phase. Fen is a former counterfeiter who specializes in making things look legitimate. He is now growing a living structure from the ground of a small settlement, his flesh slowly hardening into the organism's tissue as the cost of using its power. The man across the settlement, Callad, is doing the same thing. Every move one of them makes permanently warps what the other is building. Neither can stop. The organism calls this a competition. It is not a competition. YIELD is a progression fantasy about two people locked in a process neither fully controls, building something together by trying to destroy each other, while the ground beneath them decides what it needs them to become.
