By 1989, Jujutsu was beginning to reach a new peak. As the Yushima Incident led to the imprisonment of one of Jujutsu Society's strongest assets, the Great Clans creep into the affairs of HQ, who are currently hunting rogue sorcerer Kanezawa Rokuro whose technique mastery might make him a threat to all of Japan. As a result, they went to counsel with Kisaragi Shizune, the foremost specialist in cursed energy manipulation and the many applications of Kanezawa's technique.
