Latecomer to Another World

Kai thought getting transported to another world would solve his problems. Wrong. To the Observers watching over the multiverse, Kai and his friends aren't heroes; they’re mere test subjects. But while the others were gifted new bodies, powers, and a nearly two-decade head start, Kai got stuck in the 'waiting room' for reasons he still can't quite wrap his head around. Seventeen years late to the party, Kai lands in the experiment with his original body, his Earth backpack, and social anxiety that hasn't improved with the trip. No 'cheat skills,' no helpful RPG systems, and a world where the other guests have already split the loot or founded kingdoms while he was still stuck in cosmic red tape. Now, Kai has to survive in a place that no longer needs him, armed only with his cynicism, an absurd amount of stubbornness, and an alarming tolerance for terrible decisions. Luckily, he’s got plenty of all three. Arriving late to his destiny was never this dangerous... or this annoying.
