Earth is dying, but a lush, beautiful world discovered well beyond the edge of human space could be the key to its restoration. The World Council is rumored to be starting a massive project to build a ship capable of making the journey, but for those who still live on Earth, finding a way to survive or escape to the other worlds holds more interest. Raje's martial skill and talents for tracking people have lead her down a curious path, dancing a fine line between the powers that run Earth as she tracks down those who wish to run and hide. With a band of misfits she has pulled from various walks of life, she works toward her goals of making a safe haven for those of their ilk, and saving enough money to get to terraformed Venus, where the last of Earth's animals have been moved.
