In all fairness, Solara didn’t know about the faery. She had no idea she’d been magically hijacked when she was three, no idea that her sister, Claralune, had released it. Meanwhile, Vespera, the faery in question, was fighting with all her strength against Sol and her mom’s attempts to bring back Claralune- because only Claralune could free Sol. Only Claralune could kill Vespera.
