No one was ready for the apocalypse. In the era of the apocalypse, there are only two rules written in blood and piles of corpses: survive or die. Earth had been overrun by calamitous monsters pouring from rifts, bringing devastation to human strongholds through vile sounds known as Broken Songs. But then, some humans around the world suddenly began to awaken, gaining the ability to use Songs as weapons to push back against the tide of monsters that had brought the world to ruins. They were the Chordbearers, treated with reverence akin to gods. Five hundred years later, humanity had already reached the peak of excellence. Elias Verdan, an unawakened youth, through a series of coincidences, inherits the domain of a Primordial God, becoming the first Mythic Class Holder to ever exist. While other Chordbearers use Songs, he is given the ability to nullify them, devour them, and take them for himself. There is a catch, however… Speaking too much depletes his energy reserves. And that was quite unfortunate because he just happened to be really fond of talking. Sigh. “I am thinking too much again. Time to level up!” He would continue his hunt, find a way to cure his parents of their corruption, and get powerful enough to piss on the grave of whatever damn god had invited calamity upon this world. And that would just be him getting started. *** What to expect: • A genuinely weak-to-strong protagonist. • A unique sound/music-based power system. • System and ability evolution. • Academy, monsters, and increasingly ridiculous enemies. • A playfully narcissistic protagonist convinced that no one is as handsome as he is. Yes, including you. Chapter updates at least three times weekly, with each chapter averaging 1.3k to 1.8k words.
