The greatest folly of all was to see hope where it should've been well abandoned . To see the light where there is only dark , to stare into abyss looking for fortune and not know when one has fallen in , And to not realize that there is no turning back , that you've doomed yourself" 50 years ago the Pit came , spinning the jaws of its 9 rings like a hungry lamprey , and 50 hereafter do these humans come , keeping the beast well fed. Blood oiled the machines , flesh sustained it and the bones laid the foundations for the kingdom of wealth and profit built on it . And as for Allan Kilbride who yearns for a life of wealth and prosperity , he would not have it any other way.
