Between Broken Worlds [An Isekai LitRPG Sci-Fi]

Oliver N. Madison was always an anomaly. But he remembers being an ordinary man—definitive chain-smoker, apparently a former investigator, and certainly a proud Pacifican citizen from Los Angeles. But then he stepped on a bee which stung straight through his boot, and he immediately realized: his entire world was fake. Ever since then, his keen eyes couldn’t stop seeing the worsening glitches that nobody else could. Easily forgotten by his fellow citizens, Oliver was left a pathetic, lonely shell without a job or person to hold—taunted by God, he thought. Until he met ‘M’—an enigmatic entity, self-described ‘demiurge’, and custodian creep who revealed that not only was his world a ‘complex simulation environment’, it was also dying. Declaring him ‘the solution’, with a snap of a finger M dropped him (butt naked) straight into Nexus, a different world broken in its own way. Forced to play M’s game, equipped with a nifty interface doodad and a shooter from Mars, Oliver must endure a harsh basin left ruined by a past catastrophe; inhabited by dangerous wildlife, unfriendly locals, and a crumbling System gone mad.
