Na'im has one rule: don't be seen. For ten years he survived an organ harvesting operation by being useful. For three more he survived mercenary work by being invisible. Grey hair. Brown contacts over grey eyes. Long sleeves in Nigerian heat. Whatever it takes to keep what he is from the people who would use it against him. One job breaks all of it. Captured and classified as a Calamity-Class Ijin, the sixth in recorded history and the most dangerous designation the Unified Global Coalition has ever assigned, Na'im is transported to Kovorr. The walled prison-state built on the ruins of the only home his people ever had. Inside its walls he will fight in gladiatorial games for the UGC's entertainment, survive experiments they don't bother naming, and meet the one person who knows the truth about what he actually is. He would prefer not to know. Ijin: Calamity is a dark progression fantasy about what you do with survival and what it costs to become more than what pain made you.
