These stories follow the events of the main body of work, House of Figs and the fictional and non fictional lives that were impacted by the climax in the Observatory, when their worlds were nearly stripped bare. Adela Grayson has lived 500 years as a vampire, stuck at age eleven. Now, after half a century she's human once more. Because of a thwarted attempt on her life, she has relocated from her fictional world of origin to the real world. Everyone keeps asking her if she's okay. Adela finds this more than a little ironic. After all, if she can survive her mother's oppression, being a vampire, the breaking and an assassination attempt, she can certainly handle being human...even if that does mean she has to go to school...
