A Pawn's Gambit

Being of commoner birth, Daren had always wanted to pilot a mobile cog. After going through his eighteenth harvest last year, he finally gained enough courage and strength to try for enlistment with the local garrison. Luckily, garrison day is today and his adventure is truly going to start today. Little did he understand what he was volunteering for.
